Dr Sophia Petta, owner and director of Enlighten Dental, graduated from the University of Western Australia, with a Bachelor of Biomedicine in Medical Genetics and Molecular Medicine. She earned her doctorate from Sydney University’s Faculty of Dentistry, where she was awarded the Dental Radiology prize in Diagnostics and Pathology. Having a creative background beyond dentistry, completing formal studies in Fine Art under contemporary Artist - Astrid Dahl, Sophia has received many prizes for her artwork at various exhibits in Australia.
Dr Petta has been practicing in Sydney since 2009 with a focus in aesthetic smile design using non-metal restorations. She is a board certified General Dentist caring for all of your dental needs in the most gentle manner. Sophia is enthusiastic about Dental Health having been involved in the field since 2005, learning from and working alongside several of Sydney’s top dentists. Sophia also has an amazing way of working with children and endeavours to make every visit fun and enjoyable.
Sophia loves an active outdoor lifestyle. She enjoys yoga, surfing, paddle boarding, basketball, badminton, snowboarding, biking, and exploring new beaches. Sophia grew up in Fremantle on the West Coast of Australia, and now calls Sydney home. Every so often she loves to return to her heritage in gorgeous Italy.
Christine joined our practice in March 2017. Originally a patient of Enlighten Dental, Christine brings a wealth of knowledge in business coaching, sales and marketing. Post Grad in Management, Undergrad in Marketing and Administration. Christine semi retired from Sales Management after a full career within the Pharmaceutical, IT, Commercial Fit-out, Banking and Advertising industries.
When Christine is not working at Enlighten Dental she is also an official volunteer for the Invictus Games 2018.
Originally from the lower Blue Mountains, Ashleigh now lives in Sydney where she completed a degree in Psychology at Macquarie University passing with 1st grade honors. Ashleigh spent 3 years traveling and working throughout Europe, Asia, South Africa and the United States.
In 2014, Ashleigh decided to settle back home in Australia to complete her studies. She utilises skills from her studies to provide person-centred patient care to all of our patients here at Enlighten Dental. Ashleigh also volunteers for Family Drug Support, an organisation aimed at supporting families struggling as a result of drug use.
Outside of work and study Ashleigh enjoys travel, reading, horse riding, hikes, scuba diving and skiing.
Glenda Gow (AdvGrad.DipBPsych MNFH) Glenda joined our team at the end of 2017. Originally a patient of Enlighten Dental, Glenda brings decades of Dental Nursing experience.
When Glenda is not dental nursing at Enlighten Dental she facilitates Mindful Meditation groups. Glenda also sees private clients for Body Psychotherapy: providing practical effective treatments for: Health, Vitality and Contentment.
